Greetings Lethals and Gentlegrunts, With summer (for some) almost upon us, it’s time to keep our writing skills sharp and the creatives dancing. For the first time ever, Central Villain Writers is issuing our first Summer Writing Challenge. Since our group originally formed writing fanfiction; this year’s theme will be to rewrite a fanfiction piece that you have already written. Rules are as follows: 1) Date of Event: June 1st to August 31st 2) The piece you are writing must be at least a year old but the older the better 3) Post in the forums or on other platforms with the tag #CVWSummerChallenge2021 4) Try to keep it PG if possible and PG 13 with a warning 5) Don’t sweat perfection. This is just a gauge of improvement Alrighty then, grab your pens, pencils, and keyboards villains and let’s whip up some good ol’ storytelling fun.

Greetings fellow writing villains (it's a working title, I don't exactly have a name for members of the CVW although suggestions are open). The next book discussion theme has been decided: Gothic Horror. The Book Club discussion will be about what classifies as Gothic Horror and how the story you picked displays that horror. Did the story scare you or give you other feelings of fearful emotion or did it dull you to Hades and back? Central Villain Writers will be hosting our first book club meeting on our Discord server. With the massive popularity of films such as Black Panther, Deadpool 2, Infinity War, and the upcoming film Incredibles, our book club has decided to take a look at the superhero genre as handled in novel form. As this is our first club meeting, book choice will be open choice. However there will be requirements that will need to be met: 1) Book MUST be in novel form. It cannot be a graphic novel, manga, or trade collection. 2) Superhero must be the core genre of the book. I...t cannot be like briefly mentioned in a chapter for example. 3) Subject
